    Delay damages

    1–2 minutes

There is always one more hurdle, and the time is never right.
Instead, could you move the moment you feel it? Don’t delay even a second: be spontaneous and find yourself living a fuller (more authentic) life.

  • Theme:

    clarity over commitment

    1–2 minutes

Clarity comes from criticality, and commitment is an investment. Commitment before clarity wastes labor, time, and resources.
Be clear on the goal, and commitment will follow naturally, generating results.

    everyone politely condescending to everyone

    1–2 minutes

Waiting in line, I listened to a clerk direct everyone with professional condescension, all polite smiles and belittling slow speech.
She glanced at my paperwork and told me I needed a different form. After a polite argument, I followed her orders and waited again. This time she realized I had it right the first time, so I smiled my condescending smile and realized this is how society survives: our petty polite niceties, our passive one-upmanship.

Good days require perspective: the present is what you wish it to be

    1–2 minutes

This moment, right now, is new. And it can be good if you will let it.
We are going to focus on something. we can declare it good or bad. Or we can avoid focus and drift, not really living as much as fulfilling our allotted time.By deciding, loosening your grip on self-inflicted pain, you can make this moment amazing.

    Urgent vs Important

    1–2 minutes

The urgent is almost never important, but if we put off the ‘important’ (because it is more difficult or divisive) it will eventually become both important and urgent. This is when chaos ensues.
The difficulty is prioritizing: there is an appeal in urgent (easy/short-term/immediate) problem-solving, while work on the important (difficult/long-term/meaningful) problems sets the values that prevent cascading collapses of all things becoming chaotically urgent.

    Rewriting history

    1–2 minutes

To maintain submission, you must rewrite history.

Even this will not quail dissent when contradictions and hypocrisy multiply, yet a story with no alternative constricts the imagination, choking out possibilities in favor of momentum.

Unhooking the problem solver solves problems

    1–2 minutes

The helpful problem solver in your head connects ideas, plans for the future, and draws conclusions from the past. Because it won’t shut up, we think the chatterbox is who we are, but that is our "small self."
If you can ask yourself: "what is here now when there is no problem to solve?" you can relieve the problem solving and tune into greater awareness.

  • Theme:

Things break at the worst time

    1–2 minutes

The worst time is the most necessary time: the situation with the most reliance is also the situation with the most to lose.
The fact you rely on something is its value. Equally, no matter how robust, everything under stress eventually breaks. And it will always happen at the "worst time," as the failure designates the time as "worst."

All that is left is to predetermine how to react after the break.

Mistakes cost you 3 or 4 times

    1–2 minutes

A mistake costs you three times, sometimes four.

The first time you do it and mess up, the second time is taking it apart, and the third time is putting it back together properly.
The fourth time is when you need to gather more materials after ruining some.

    Vacu-suck Cycle

    1–2 minutes

We are a vacuum cleaner sucking up experience and chasing desired dust bunnies. Often we suck up the same desires over and over to be consumed again and again.
What does it mean to be a vacuum cleaner on repeat, an endless loop?

Is it possible to take a moment to feel yourself in the present moment and realize you are already full and fulfilled? What if this perpetual suck is hiding that we were good all along?
