  • Theme:

    the intimacy of betrayal

    1–2 minutes

The most effective way to hurt something/someone is through studied intimacy.
The "blunderer" is forgivable out of their ignorance: in the unlikely event they land a haymaker to your soul or sabotage your company it is by chance or luck.

The devoted acolyte who accessed the inner sanctum through devotion knows precisely where best to strike. In knowing the betrayal is doubled. It is no longer simply a devastating wound, but the loss of trauma support. (This is why family and partners can hurt us so profoundly.)

  • Theme:

    maintain friendships

    1–2 minutes

It seems silly to say, but maintain good friendships. When things go bad, or sideways you are only as good as your support network.

This requires your support in advance. This is not Machiavellian plotting, simply a reminder to treat people right in the present, offering yourself now, because it models the behavior of care we all wish for.

  • Theme:

    Competing against time alone

    1–2 minutes

People assume they are competing with the top 10% of the world, and they work to be the most attractive, compelling option.

It is not another guy, girl, or business you are competing with: you are attempting to replace their time alone.

  • Theme:

    how to judge people

    1–2 minutes

    Some people show up.

Sounds simple, and there are always exceptions, but someone willing to spend their time and take action (not just verbal, digital, and mental time but actual time) are the ones you should prioritize.

  • Theme:

Psychopathy and schizophrenia is reasonable responses

    1–2 minutes

If your society rewards sociopathy (or psychopathy), it is reasonable to become antisocial, nonempathetic, and egotistical.
Then why are we not all psychopaths? Social or familial values counter the destructive values of mercenary conquest.

We divide our life, pushing for both worldly success and relational solidarity. If not assimilated (synthesized) the dueling pressure can produce a schizophrenic split, allowing you to be alternately psycho and nurturing.

  • Theme:

    Gift appearance

    1–2 minutes

The minute I get nervous, a gift arrives. This is not woo-woo, but simply a reality I have observed repeatedly. It is not a re-framing of the world but an inexplicable generosity from those who love me.

  • Theme:

    sympathy vs empathy

    1–2 minutes

Sympathy is to merge and completely identify with another.
Empathy is to "go with" someone without losing yourself.

  • Theme:

    Deferred life

    1–2 minutes

If life is anchored to something beyond life (a transcendent plane, such as heaven), you live life waiting or achieving another life elsewhere.

Your current existence is subjected to a future existence.

This can also happen in work, marriage, or ideology: living a life for a promised future, you will never encounter.

  • Theme:

    the enemy within

    1–2 minutes

We often compete with and demonize our colleagues or family members.
However, proximity and familiarity are tragic standards upon which to focus your destructive drives. Instead, you should consider the broader world in which you must ultimately succeed.

To win over your family, classroom, or office is a small-minded and hollow victory. To work against your comrades is to sabotage your stability.

  • Theme:

    help us not

    1–2 minutes

The things designed to help us get in the way.
Concepts, tutorials, or punishment: they are the thing that keeps us from perceiving reality.

They are programs that train us not to see clearly but to align and obey, most often for someone else’s benefit, and this normalization destroys clear perception, and we must work hard late in life to dissolve them.
