When you reach a certain point, you realize this is not your world, not your future, and you may never fit in.
This does not mean you should retreat. This is the freedom to avoid conformity and participate as the weirdo you are.

Reaching for extremes
°
1–2 minutesIt is not one thing that causes somebody to go to extremes.
To retroactively attempt to assign blame to one event (one facet of culture or media) releases the rest of society from the persistent, low-grade traumatization that unravels people.Once it is systemically accepted to permit poisons as "normal," we can blame the victim.
And we must remember: most poisons offer dark pleasures, increasing the risk of dark actions.

Reciprocal insight: the asymmetry of awareness
°
1–2 minutesWe are all experts at seeing other people’s problems, yet children when seeing our own.
We need community for reciprocal insight. No matter how gifted and aware you are, somebody else will see more clearly than you, and they will be pained watching you stumble about.
In reverse, when you see someone flounder, remember you are doing the same in another facet of your life. - Theme: Self
Emotional Rappelling
°
1–2 minutesAs you bounce and slide into a new life, letting loose just a bit, your partner remains the stable anchor point.
Are they left behind or left to pull you back? Either way sucks to be them. Next time, try tandem skydiving. - Theme: Growth
Humans: parasite or marvel?
°
1–2 minutesWhen you look out across nature and see rooftops sprouting amongst the trees, do you think of humans as cancer or plague spreading across the land, or do you marvel at our productive capacity?
Two generations ago, the production and growth of humanity were celebrated marvels. Today we are appalled at our escalating proliferation.
Within another two generations, we must regulate for equilibrium. This is only possible if our species can transcend its parasitic childhood.

Social damnation contagion
°
1–2 minutesI was offended and disappointed when a musician I liked was accused of sexual misconduct.
The attribution of this condemnation spreads a malicious web through their past endeavors. Like a toxin, we attempt to cut off the spread to ourselves.
It is curious to see the social damnation (values misalignment) as mendacious contagion (biological threat): as if there is subliminal essence hidden in the message that may spring forth to infect us now, even if it did not before. - Theme: Growth
“I see you” nod
°
1–2 minutesMen have a ritual greeting: the head nod or the casually raised index finger while driving.
I see you: you are part of those who are looking around, aware, and moving through the world. It is a small interaction signaling, "we are all dealing with some bullshit." Through small acknowledgments, we find the solidarity to continue. - Theme: Culture
Recruiting for dysfunction
°
1–2 minutesWhen recruiting for a cause, organic mutation leads to impossible promises and tainted origins.
Only a few members will align with your long-term familial agenda: finding the appropriate dysfunctions to thrive is a numbers game. - Theme: Growth
The Bad Days
°
1–2 minutesBad days happen. I’m talking off-your-meds shit-show days. When they do it’s amazing that someone can be there to share with and support you.
It doesn’t make any kind of rational sense, and that is profound. - Theme: Self
Real Cool v Fake Cool
°
1–2 minutesReal cool lacks striving and is comfortable.
Fake cool adopts the affectation of not caring while caring immensely, which requires repressing anxiety and authenticity for social acceptance. Artifice may avoid isolation by isolating the ‘self,’ but the double-bind invariably leads to a schizophrenic crash, which is not cool.
