The Gordian Knot

Assuming one origin (one traceable thread) explains everything is tempting.

Once we look around, reality weaves countless causes, amplifying and intertwining them. We lack the patience to untangle these threads, so we blame the knot, seeking to cut it.

Accepting that there are no singular culprits, we are left to hack through the impasse (blunt action)or patiently, confoundingly unravel what we can (bureaucratic, empathetic tedium).

A third option is redefinition: side-stepping the problem, relegating it to a symbolic role, to achieve a bypass.
