talking yourselves down

Narrating to yourself is insanity.

Your reaction to something is potent, and a story forms.

To return to normal you must re-narrate in excruciating detail with multiple hypothetical and alternate scenarios who you are, which is really only who you want to be.

Who “you” are is a market of competing desires, each shouting their “story of you,” to which some other version of you is repeatedly having to self-talk all your selves back into the shape you recognize.
